Now we in the bureau are working a lot with a foreign context. I have said before that in order to know the latest trends and learn from foreign experience, an advertising specialist must necessarily speak English.
And not at the level “yes, I sometimes, maybe, read some articles”, but at the level “I regularly read Western blogs, watch videos, go to webinars and can communicate with the client on the project, I can launch advertising and effectively lead in American English and Australian English. “
If you, as a specialist, feel that you have already hit the ceiling for professional growth, a new challenge is needed. Go abroad, the market there is an order of magnitude larger, more complicated, but at the same time more interesting. It’s great to use tools where they were developed, where they work as intended, and not as it turns out when they are adapted for the Russian market (I mean, for example, the work of tools and algorithms of Facebook and Google in Russia and abroad. )
I will not recommend any courses, services or applications for learning English. There is a much more reliable option. Start selling your services overseas. In the worst case, you will simply improve your English, and in the best case, you will also get paid for it.
It should be understood that such an approach greatly improves not only the English language, but also the professional level, because the lack of English can only be compensated for by an obviously higher expertise. You need to constantly learn something new, master new tools and technologies. It will not be possible to go out on the price, a customer from the USA can always hire a specialist from India or Pakistan cheaper than you.
On the other hand, stability is higher when working with projects. I mean that, unlike our market, the result largely depends on the work of a specialist, and not on the fact that the exchange rate has fallen sharply again, demand has fallen, or your client has problems with tax.
I remember my first Skype conversations with US clients. After the first 30 minutes, I usually began to alternate between English and Russian words. Despite this, we have been working with one of these first clients in the United States for almost a year and a half, thanks to our efforts, their startup received a new round of investments.
